Below are scenes for teen actors, as well as some for adults, that may be used at no cost for auditions and classroom work. Here’s how it works–please read the instructions carefully:
1. If you wish to use a scene for classroom work or an audition, just add yourself to my email list by using the “Join my email list” button at the top or bottom of this page. That’s your “payment” for using the work, and rest assured that a) you won’t hear from me too often (a few times a year) and b) I will never share your info with anyone.
Special Circumstances (Public Performances/Competition): If you wish to use a scene for competition or in a public setting (scenes night, showcase, etc.), contact the publisher directly if it’s from one of my published plays (contact me about my unpublished work). Usually you will have to purchase one copy of the play from which the scene comes for each participant. If the scene is from an unpublished play, please contact me.
3. If you’d like to read the entire play from which the scene comes, you can do that. Just follow the link on the scene’s page: It will take you to the play’s page, where you will find ordering instructions! (Sometimes there is even a direct order link on the scene’s page!)
4. If you’re a student, please tell your teacher or director about me! If you’re a teacher or director, please consider my plays for potential production!
It’s that easy. Please spread the word, and check back periodically for new scenes!
