The Locker Next 2 Mine

Premiered at The Randolph School (Huntsville, AL). The play is also available in a one-act version (35-45 minutes).

“We had our first performance last night and it came together like magic!  Thank you so much again for writing this amazing and important play.  Our parents in the audience were blown away and appreciated it so much.” – Xan Theophanous, De La Salle Holy Cross College (Victory Park, Gauteng, South Africa)

“[At the end] our audience was in tears. It really was amazing… But my favorite part of the script was the dialogue. You really have a gift at writing honest teenager conversations and monologues. Thank you for sharing your play with us.” – David Hastings, Olathe High School South (Olathe, KS) and past co-chapter director of Kansas Thespians

“One of the best shows we’ve done… Kids and parents still haven’t stopped talking about it… People had tears in their eyes.” – Max Brown, Blue Valley North High School (Overland Park, KS) and EdTA Hall of Fame member

Synopsis

It’s tough being a mid-year arrival in your junior year of high school. To make matters worse for Alisa, her locker is next to this sprawling shrine for a female lacrosse player who died in an auto accident. While the popular “M Squad” leads a school that is in a state of non-stop remembrance for Beth, Alisa is just trying to eke out enough space to get to her books. But her efforts to find breathing room lead her to discover that there was another loss that no one is talking about, and it’s left many of the school’s students trying to pick up their own pieces. When she connects with Brady, former student TV reporter who infamously had a meltdown in the middle of a broadcast, is it time to bring Jeremy Reiner’s suicide into the light?
