Below are dozens of teen monologues and adult monologues from my plays that individuals may use at no cost for auditions and classroom work. Here’s how it works–please read the instructions carefully:
1. If you wish to use a monologue for classroom work or an audition, just add yourself to my email list by using the “Join my email list” form at the top or bottom of this page. That’s your “payment” for using the work, and rest assured that a) you won’t hear from me too often (a few times a year) and b) I will never share your info with anyone.
2. Special Circumstances (Public Performances/Competition): If you wish to use a monologue for competition or in a public setting (scenes night, showcase, etc.), please contact the publisher directly. Typically, this will require purchasing a copy of the full script (for competition) or possibly a script purchase/partial royalty (public performance). If the monologue is from an unpublished play, please contact me.
3. If you’d like to read the entire play from which the monologue comes, you can do that. Just follow the link on the monologue’s page: it will take you to the play’s page, where you will find ordering instructions! (Sometimes there is even a direct order link on the monologue’s page!)
4. If you’re a student, please tell your teacher or director about me! If you’re a teacher or director, please consider my plays for potential production, and spread the word to your colleagues! That’s how I eat and pay the rent!
