Synopsis

Boone is ready to leave the nest and go off to college. He packs his suitcases—which seems particularly heavy with socks—and awaits his ride to the airport, scheduled to arrive at any minute. But Debbie, his mother, isn’t ready to let go.

Unbeknownst to Boone, she has intercepted his ride and managed to get the poor man wedged into their apartment building’s garage door.

Boone sees the commotion below their window, as emergency personnel try to get the man out, but Boone has no idea just how important this particular man is: all he knows is that if he misses his flight, he’ll miss registration.

Meanwhile, there’s the question of Boone’s missing father, who disappeared at the beginning of the summer.

While Boone wonders if he’s to blame for his father’s disappearance or whether his mother had something to do with it, Debbie does everything in her power to keep Boone from leaving her, even resorting to witchcraft.

But in the end, crafty young Boone uses his socks as a rope and escapes the apartment through the window.
