Me, My Selfie & I co-premiered at Lompoc High School (Lompoc, CA) and Westmont High School (Campbell, CA) in September 2017.
To reduce running time for competition or other reasons, it is possible to cut in their entirety any scenes except for the Free Fallin’ and group Selfie (Takes 1-5) scenes that give the play its throughline.
We live in a world of social media, one in which we seem to be recording our every experience. But are we making memories or missing out on them? Through a series of scenes and monologues—everything from an accidental first date to a most unusual art project to creating that last, best selfie—we meet a group of teens who are struggling to find the balance between documenting their lives and living them.
