Below are dozens of teen monologues and adult monologues from my plays that individuals may use at no cost for auditions and classroom work. Here's how it works--please read the instructions carefully:
1.Email me with your name (first name only is fine if you're under 18; full name if you're over 18), school or theatre/agency affiliation, city, state/country and the monologue(s) you'd like to use, and please let me know whether you will be using the monologue for classroom work or an audition. And don't forget that "please" and "thank you" go a long way.
Special Circumstances (Public Performances/Competition): If you wish to use a monologue for competition or in a public setting (scenes night, etc), contact the publisher directly if it's from one of my published plays (contact me about my unpublished work). 2. Allow yourself enough time for a response (minimum one week is recommended). If you write the day before you need a monologue, I may be traveling or working on a project and unable to respond, in which case you're out of luck. Regrettably, I'm unable to provide specific monologue suggestions: it's up to you to read through the choices and decide what's right for you.
3. If you'd like to read the entire play from which the monologue comes, you can do that. Just follow the link on the monologue's page: it will take you to the play's page, where you will find ordering instructions! (Sometimes there is even a direct order link on the monologue's page!)
4. By using one of my monologues, you grant me permission to add you to my newsletter email list. I promise not to email you too often, and I will never share your email with anyone.
5.If you're a student, please tell your teacher or director about me! If you're a teacher or director, please consider my plays for potential production, and spread the word to your colleagues!
It's that easy. Now read on for a great selection of monologues!
